I did not plan this. In 2013 I started an executive search firm, and I was happy to hire technical directors, heads of IT and production managers. I was good at finding the very exotic skill combinations, the ones that other recruiters considered unrealistic. That is how diversity recruiting found me a few years ago: My customer wanted to hire a technical director, an engineer with a successful executive management track record in the automotive industry, and it had to be a woman. That was an “unrealistic skill combination”. My turf. I found the right female executive for that role.

From here, my reputation for diversity recruiting started to grow, and it is really close to my heart. As a female entrepreneur, an immigrant, married to a woman and Jewish in Germany, I know first hand what it means to feel  different. I feel connected. That is why I love to give my skills and my heart to diversity recruiting.

Ina Ferber has 17 years of experience as Human Resources Specialist, HR Director and Recruiting Consultant. She worked in different industries in Brussels, Guetersloh and Duisburg in permanent roles and as a self-employed HR interim manager (temporary HR director). In 2009, she joined Monster Worldwide as Director Central Europe of the recruiting and employer branding consultancy. She founded Ferber Personalberatung in 2013 and later specialized in diversity recruiting.

Ina Ferber holds two degrees, an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an M.A., M.Sc. Psychology (Dipl.-Psych.) from the Technical University of Darmstadt. She was a lecturer at the University of Applied Science in Frankfurt. She publishes articles in HR journals regularly and she runs the blog EMPLOYERREPUTATION.
